My husband even when we were still friends to bf-gf relationship to being engage until now (and I know it would be forever )he is always been so sweet to me.

We don't have cultural clash. We almost share the same passion in things, likes and dislikes.

My wife is filipina and Im American, we keep in touch via skype, IM, and text messages. Phone calls cost far too much but if its a special occasion I might call, but no need for that, with other options out there (skype to skype is free video/audio chat)

So look into skype, if you have dsl/cable internet and he has the same.

Some filipina who are young, go after very old American men, age difference could be a real problem. I would say no more than 7 to 10 years difference , after that you are looking at just being a caretaker for an old guy.

If you have no internet, then write letters, send cards .

But most of all if you dont feel he is trying hard enough or doing much to keep in touch then just drop him. Its not a good sign but do be reasonable about it

Culture can be problem , religious differences can be a big one , or misunderstandings. Relationships in the usa seem to be very different from those in the philippines , so remember that. Sometimes you guys are very conservative and it can be hard for us to grasp that (not being used to it here)

(2 THUMBS UP for TAHOMA and El Buscador)..I also agree...my American bf is family-oriented and somehow the "old-school" type of guy although he's young..we just met online and everything is well eversince(still hoping&praying I will be granted a visa before our coming anniversary...we always talk&see each other on skype and he calls often(communication is very important)..We may have differences,same likes and misunderstanding too,but as for me,I guess it's all a matter of acceptance+respect+commitment+trust+contentment+=LOVE...
