What I did was buy a bindable mock leather binder from an Office Supply store, and then I bought replaceable photo sheets from the local Hobby Lobby... this way I could take them out at the interview and slide them in the slot...

I dont think it matters how thick your photo album is as long as you can slide what ever into the slot... I mean at the security check they didnt care in India... you just put your things in a tray and they Xray'd it

From my experience the interviewer didnt want me to slide anything to her, she asked me to hold the photo album up and flip through it for her...

When we went to our interview, in Ankara, I had several binders of documentation and a large photo album. We had to stop at a desk, before going into the interview room, and submit our documentation. They wouldn't accept all of it, saying I had too much, and would only let me submit half of it. They took it to the interview for us and we did not have to slide it under the window.

I was allowed to take the other binders into the interview room and when we walked up to the window I made sure to let the person know I had other documentation with me. The documentation that they DID take was too big to slip under the window to give it back to me, so someone had to walk around and bring it to us.

One other thing.. if you are both planning on going to the interview you might want to email the embassy and ask them if the USC is allowed to. You ARE allowed to, but I made sure I had it in writing before our interview. They were NOT goign to let me in, but I refused to be turned away and kept telling them I had an email from the embassy saying I could attend. I had to talk to three guards before someone would listen to me and look at the email. Then they let me in. Get it in writting and dont take no for an answer if the try to make you wait on the street instead of letting you in the interview with your spouse.

Our experience in Ankara was pretty good. Feel free to read our consulate report in our time line. Insallah all will go well for you too.

I had about 300 hundred pictures. Total three albums. Two for our wedding and one that included pictures from when we were dating in college. I took the thin bendable ones that you can slide under the window. I organized it such that it included all the 'important' pictures were right at the start--him with my parents, me with his mom, graduation day, with friends, signing the marriage certificate. Of course, they didn't ask to see a single thing but oh well, I'm glad I went prepared.

i just printed 100 photos and put them in the photo box you get at the print shop. and sent those in the box as is.

i don't see a need to bother with an actual album. they would only glance at them if they even look. why would i send them a REAL album and spend money on something like that? they only need photos. if i put together a real album i would never give it to anyone. i would keep it for myself.

but that is just me.

i wouldn't spend too much time on it.

What you have looks great. Your photo album is about the size that mine was. Be prepared they may not accept other documentation if you try to submitg the album in Ankara. They would only let me turn in one binder, so I took out half the photos and put other things in the binder. I think you are good to go... I stressed out over the documentation more than I needed to. They looked at it, talked to us for all of five minutes and then gave us the visa. Good luck!!!
