hi everyone.

i started filling out all the forms i need

i-130, i-485, i-131, I-765, g-325a (for my wife and myself)

but i have a few questions about the I-864

1) whats the difference in the I-864 and the I-864A, we will be using a joint sponsor. (my sister)

1a) do i have to email my sister the I-864 ?

2) do i send all the forms at one, if yes can i send them in 1 envelope?

3) when do i go for the physical ? before or after i submit the forms above.

thanks in Advance

think i found the answer.

What is the difference between a "joint sponsor" (I-864) and someone who is filling out an I-864A for their income to be considered?

person living in the same house as you do fills I-864A, if he/she doesnt stay in the same house fills I-864 , the purpose of both the forms is the same

can anyone help me with this question ?

if i used a joint sponsor do i still have to file both the I-864 and the I-864A

It is one or the other (not both) dependent on whether they are a member of your household or not....

YMMV

follow up question.

I think what I did is correct, so I'll tell you that.

I am the petitioner - I filled in the 864.

My parents are the joint-sponsors so my stepdad filled out the i-864 and my mom filled out the i-864A. They filed together so both of their incomes are being used.

So, your wife should file one if she is the petitioner. And then your sister should file one - and if there is someone else contributing to a "joint income" for your sister, that person should fill out the i-864A.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

did you sent documents to prove your relationship to your joint-sponsors? and what was it?
