Hello everyone,

I have questions:

On DS 230 question #32 Lists below all employment for the last 10 years. I work at the company before but on 2006 to present, I don’t have a permanent job anymore but all I have at present is only a part time job (Job on Call). This is not having a permanent employer. What am I suppose to write on question #32? I don’t have a permanent employer because I don’t have a permanent job right now. So, who Am I suppose to be my employer? I work in different persons who need my services and as I said, this is only a part time job. Do I need put all of them as my employer? I am a Driver, this is only a daily basis salary and if there is an on-call job then that is only a time for me to work.

Please help

Hi

Your question is who pays me? The one who calls me and need my service for that day.

How do I get my job? I get my job through friends and costumers recommendation.

Am I a self employed? Yes, I am a self employed. If that is the right term for that.

I think you make it sound more complicated than it is. I'd put down something along the lines of:

2006- present: self-employed driver

You should be fine with that. It sounds unreasonable to me that self-employed people and freelancers would have to put down the names of all the clients who have hired them for their services through the years. If in doubt, call up their helpline or email them and see what they'd advise.

Also, make sure you have adequate proof of your self-employement in case it's needed, although they're more likely to be interested in your spouse's job/income etc. during the interview rather that your own, since your spouse is your petitioner and sponsor.
