I-864 Questions whilst waiting for NOA2

Hi i'm still waiting on my NOA2. I filed beg of April so am expecting to wait another month or 2 here. So here's some clarification ?'s while I wait:

1. Can I order my IRS transcripts now for the past 3 years? How long does it take to receive them?

2. On the USCIS site it says just to have the most recent tax year but when i look on this forum people are gathering up the past 3 years in transcripts?

3. My most recent tax year 2009 i was unemployed for half the year since I moved to London to live with my husband there, but 2007 & 2008 and proof of my current employment will show that I make above the poverty line. Would this be good enough to show support for my husband?

1. Yes, you can order them now. Unless you are going to file an amended return, they will not change.

2. Transcripts are free, so why not get all three years and send them along? Unless you feel as though they will be detrimental to your case - ie: you were a student in 2008, and had zero income, but you became full time employed and more than meet the requirements in 2009.

3. In your case, yes, past years are helpful, as they show historical earning power. Add to that proof of current income exceeding that in 2009 with some pay stubs and an employer letter. Do the math for them (ie: $2k every 2 weeks = $2k*26 = $52,000/year) Put a cover letter on there to explain the circumstances to be safe.

You can get the transcripts fax to you, so this should speed it up. Also if you meet the Poverty guidelines on just your income alone then you can fill out the I-864EZ much simpler and easier to fill out.

Since you have time, don't get the transcripts in fax form. Just call IRS and use the automated system to request both types of transcript. Tax Account Transcipt and Tax Year Transcript. It takes about 6-10 days to get to your house. I am still waiting for NOA2 and ordered my transcripts for 3 years. I got my transcripts in 8 days.
