Are Fingerprint checks required when police certificates are asked for?

When asked to submit police certificates for the K1 visa application, do they require fingerprint checks too. Or is it strictly police certs? thanks!

The K-1 process does not require fingerprinting, just a police check.

The fingerprinting will be necessary at the AOS/EAD stage later.

Police checks are required for the beneficiary. Some countries require fingerprints to conduct them some dont.

Remember you will be required to submit a police check for each country you have lived in (except the US) for longer than one year since 16 years of age. Most countries of residence have a stipulation of 6 months or more.

I am the beneficiary and we are going to apply for k1 visa very soon. When i went through the USCIS website it talks about police checks for each country you have lived in (except the US) for longer than one year since 16 years of age. I understand that we do not need to submit the checks when filing for k1 but will need it in due time, at a later stage. I stayed in a few countries before and was thinking that i can speed things up if i request for them now. In Australia, the federal police give two choices, police check or/and fingerprint check. I am not sure if fingerprint is needed too.

It depend on which country you are I guess.

I did mine in China and they didn't have such a request.
