I just received my interview appointment the other day, and it is scheduled at 6:30 am on a Wednesday in the Houston USCIS. Is that normal or a typo, do the place really open that early? I have tried calling the USCIS customer service number and the guy on the phone can't even find the hour of operation for the Houston office or transfer my call to it.

Does anyone else had appointment time like this? Any comment would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I've seen before other members mentioning that they had a 6:30am interview.... so it is seems like a normal hour for them. Oh, make sure you inquire about your oath, the chances are you might be able to take the oath same day.

I have an idea - why don't you take an extra coffee cup and give it to the IO - it'll allow you to skip some interview material ;) - just kidding.

How far away is your field office? Seems like the further you are away, the earlier is your appointment, yes, we had to leave as early as 1:00 AM to get there on time.

If you do everything right the first time, only have to do it once or twice in the case of US citizenship, then its all over. With all this talk recently about god, the USCIS is your god, don't dare drink too much coffee, more rest stops, and have to sit in the waiting room for hours after you get there. Not even wise to leave for a moment to use the rest room, that is when they will call you causing even further delays.

In a way, a 6:30 am is good as you beat that usual morning rush hour traffic, they always seem to locate these field offices in the most inaccessible no parking zone areas. Think about the people that work there going through that madness day after day, they probably voted for off hours.
