The above document requires proof that I'm making 125% of federal poverty guidelines... well as of last month I just started a new job that's making 27k a year.

My Payroll HR rep stated that in order to verify employment I should use whats called a "work number" (http://www.theworknumber.com/)

Is that what I would need to have the interviewer of my wife's CR-1 refer to when the time comes?

I've read that people say to give 3 years past tax returns, however on my past years returns I've only grossed about 12-13k.

Perhaps paystubs would be sufficient?

Any help would be appreciated as this is the only thing I can see that may be a problem with our process!

Pay stubs usually suffice instead of a an employer letter. You'll state each of your last years' total income from the tax returns but will also state and document your current income. Current income is the qualifier, not past income.
