I have a question concerning question 30 on the ds 230 form. What if there's only been one place you ever lived for longer than six months? How do you write the date? Do you simply write "present" without any date from which day on? (which would be your birthday)

Write from your birthdate to "present" - that way there will be no confusion.

What if a person lives in an interrupted manner in different countries and does not have a 6 months continuous residence in one place? What is the difference between "live" and "reside".

Hi there...we just got a checklist back from NVC for this very question...we put his DOB-present because my husband has lived at his address all his life...but they want it from when he was 16yrs old to present...so we sent the corrected DS-230 form back reflecting that it read..6/1996-present..this is the month he turned 16yrs old...hope this helps you..we are still waiting for the correction to be entered into the system so we can hopefully get a "CASE CLOSED" status.
