I only know about flights to lagos

Try the direct flight info with north american airlines reservation number. they are advertising specials in nigeria since their direct flight between new york and lagos is new (1 month old). soon virgin nigeria will have a direct flight. you may have to buy the tickets from nigeria for the best deal. give the ticket agency in lagos a call for prices instead of going through the american reservations for comparison. December tickets are more expensive (anywhere out of the USA) so you should buy early!!! good luck

Every day is one day closer to the end of my visa journey.

hi!

as i posted in another post, i recently bought a ticket directly from iberia airlines for $1,100 for a roundtrip ticket to lagos. i am coming from minneapolis, so the price might be different from different cities. when i was looking i checked out kayak, orbitz, travelocity, airgorilla, airfareplanet, etc. this was the cheapest i found. some appeared cheaper, but after they added taxes, was actually more. plus we wanted a layover in madrid...

keep in mind, december is an expensive time to go, because it is a common time to go.

good luck with finding a cheap ticket! and have a great time when you do go!

I have found that for travel from Nigeria to USA, some of these websites are not Naija-friendly. North American Airlines allows you that option of placing Lagos as departure city but some others do not even have Nigeria in the list of countries..................annoying, if you ask me...

So apart from NAA, Airfrance and KLM, what other airline permits you to place Lagos or Abuja as departure city?? Any ideas???

Ohhhh I am annoyed with the same situation  . I did find that United will allow you to search and fly out of Lagos since their partner is Luftansa. Even if you find a flight for your fiance, how do you pay for it? Most won't allow you to book it online with your credit card (at least I was told that). I really worry about sending my fiance $1,000 via western union for a ticket. I don't want him to have to walk around with $1,000 in his pocket...makes me uneasy. I would prefer to use my visa in case anything happens, I am protected.

What are some of your thoughts or experiences? I am really hoping for a deal of some sort too...hopefully less than $1,000!

Has anyone tried going into the actual ticket counter to purchase the ticket? I use to work at the airport and they allowed this type of transaction. For a fee(of course) you could go in and buy a ticket to be picked up by the individual at thier origin. Of course they would have to show proper id etc...Since United is a partner with Lufthansa....and KLM is a partner with Delta(I think) you should be able to go to these ticket counter and purchase the ticket this way but call and speak to a human reservation agent. They had restrictions on them such as the ticket can only be refunded to the purchaser and travel dates are set in STONE. I would try and call the airlines direct and see if this can be done.

I ordered my husbands ticket online but opted to pay by cc since it is more secure versus sending the moneyand paying that huge Western Union Fee. they scrutinize everything though due to the 419. It worked out well even though at the last minute I had to change his flight , I actually ended up saving about $600 because they helped me find one for cheaper..and he got his frequent flyer perks. I did have to mail the paper tick to him though for the flight as it will be sent to the buyter versus the traveler. He had his flight itenerary emailed to him though as well so he could take it to the Embassy for his interview. You are only able to purchase round trip tickets from Naija though they dont allow one way for some reason. We have flown through KLM, BA and AF, I dont like BA at all and KLM and AF are partners through NWA so look on that site and you might see fares for both airlines , if not check both sites for the best rate then call the Airline and ask about that particular fare price, they were very helpful to me.

if you decide to go through a travel agent which i always do cos it's cheaper, i pay by credit card over the phone and my tickets are always e-tickets so all i have to do is print it out online and take to the airport, which your SO's could do as well in nigeria.
