A Lutheran pastor was recently re-instated years after having been removed from his position because he chooses to have a sexual relationship with another man. Reverend Bradley Schmeling shows signs of happiness after hearing the decision.

This is a tremendous milestone for other gays who work within the church and have to hide their sexual preference.

Schmeling is now back serving at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, located in the Atlanta, Georgia area. A committee from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America also better known as the ELCA, made the decision last month.

The ELCA removed Schmeling from its list of approved ministers back in 2007. However the church that Schmeling served was not in agreement with the decision, so they still allowed him to be pastor. Schmeling has lived with his boyfriend, Darin Easler, since 2005. Easler is a reverend who was also removed from by the same board in 2007 also. They are just waiting for the ELCA to finish up necessary paperwork before it is all official. Members of the Lutheran Church have mixed emotions about the ELCA decision, but some have said as long as the two are celibate, they will accept the decision of the ELCA.

Of course they're going have to hide the parts of the Bible that interferes with their lifestyle choices as well.

Somehow the idea of two gay pastors sounds like another sitcom Hollywood would like thinking it resonate with the religious folks out there.

Probably gonna be waiting a long time on that one, Seems like they are still trying to avoid all the child molesting done by preist and nuns.

I think that if we had married priests in the Catholic church (other than protestants that converted which is a technical route), the issue would be much less than what it is now. I can't imagine the pain of the victims and their families for what they've gone through. I hope they are able to move on to lead healthy lives, although with appropriate closure and compensation.

It seems school teachers take advantage of Students at an equal or higher rate than Priests ...... I think they are permitted to marry.

It should also be pointed out 3/4 of the victims of Priests were teens, not little children, so we get into the Homosexual area of motivation... not Pedophile.

Priests are in the highest position of trust and must be held to the highest of standards.

I recently saw an article which indicated incidents of Priests involvement with under youth were consistent with society as a whole, I would be interested to know what the teacher rate is.

Get up too speed? Have you read the bible? This whole you can be gay but not participate tactic IMO is very very stupid, there letting them off on a technicality.

Apparently not.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Tactic? Letting them off? Letting them off what exactly? What do you suppose someone who is gay should do? Exist in a state of permanent guilt because they are by nature evil? Perhaps, as soon as they realize they are attracted to the same sex they should off themselves, save everyone the trouble of having to worry about it.

I feel like driving on the wrong side of the road at times, but not being from Australia, or Britain, I somehow manage to resist the urge. wink.gif

You honestly believe that it's something people just 'feel' like doing? It's like picking chicken instead of beef for dinner?
