My fiancee entered the US with a K1 visa on 20 April 2010, the K1 visa has an expiration date of 15 May 2010 (it was issued in Nov. 2009). We will plan to be married within the 90-day period of entry into the US, but will there be any problem after the expiration of the K1 visa on 15 May? Do we need to apply for a visa extension? What will happen to her status after 15 May?

The 90 day period will start at the date of her arrival to the US. No problem because she already entered the US before the expiration of her visa.

No need to apply for an extension of her visa

Once entering the US, the expiration date on the K-1 visa is irrelevant - the date on the I-94 (stapled inside the passport) is the one you need to marry by. It will be 90-days from the date entered the US. :star:

the expoiration date of the K-1 visa is the date by which you must enter the USA. Upon entering the USA the K-1 visa is CANCELLED. You are given an I-94 to take it's place. You MUST get married before the expiration on the I-94

The expiration date of the K-1 has no importance once you enter the USA
