If you want a nice place with reasonable rate that is 4 blocks from Robinsons I would recommend Casa Bocobo Hotel. We have stayed there several times. If you book early you will get a discount. The staff there is excellent.

My link

Don't reserve with the online link. Call them at 63 2 526 3783 and you will get a better rate.

Do they have mini refs inside, cause for me it saves alot to buy water/juices in the gorcery and just stock them in the refrigerator. I'm just looking for the standard room or the next level to standard.

At Casa Bocobo, we always stayed in the mini suite. It is more expensive but it has a mini-fridge, a safe and free breakfast buffet.

Try Hotel Soriente. Affordable, clean, safe with large and nice rooms with big closets, hot and cold shower, a/c, TV. Room rate is only P1,499 good for two person. You may request for a refrigerator in your room for just an additional P100.00 a day. There are convenience stores and loading station beside Hotel Soriente. It is walking distance to Robinson's and USEM (Soriente is actually at the center of these two and a few steps from St. Luke's). There are hotels nearer USEM but they are more expensive. One of them is Bayview, just across USEM.

Hotel Soriente is in Flores corner Bocobo Sts. Tel Nos: +632-525-7304 / +632-523-9480.

Next door of Hotel Soriente is Paragon Hotel. Rates are a little higher than Soriente but with free breakfast good for two. I have not personally seen their rooms and have not tried staying there but an acquaintance told me it is nice there too. Tel Nos. +632-526-5541 to 47.

CherryBlossoms is literally just a few steps away from Robinson's. But I have not personally seen their rooms and have not experienced staying there too, so I cannot say anything more. I passed by CherryBlossoms everytime I go to Robinson's.

April 26, 2010 (7:00 A.M.)---- Interview Schedule (I got not pink nor blue slip, but a Reverification Form for NSO to send directly to USEM my CENOMAR and Annotated Marriage Certificate, although I have submitted and given these to the Consul during the interview, so why? I don't know! And told me that as soon as NSO forwarded the requested documents, visa will be delivered. Oh well...)

April 27, 2010 ---- Went home

April 28, 2010 ---- Ordered online the documents USEM requested

Wow so many choices  but will check them all online thanks. Thanks VJ friends . It's always the BEST to HEAR from the people that stayed from the hotel itself than just rely on different hotel websites.

If you want to save money, the Blackstump Hotel (+63(2)5238167) has rooms for approx. P1300/night, it's at the corner of Padre Faura & Del Pilar, just a couple blocks from USEM and a few blocks from Robinson's. I stayed there last summer and was quite happy. It's not the Hilton, but the rooms have A/C, fridge, and there's a nice indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge with decent food. The rooms in front have a good street view, or if you want peace & quiet then request one of the back rooms.

Another good place is 1775 Adriatico Suites (www.adriaticosuites.com), an apartelle in Malate near Remedios Circle. I have stayed there as well, it's really nice, the rooms are suites and have A/C, fridge, cooking utensils, etc. It's a little farther from USEM (5 min taxi ride, P7 jeepney, or get some exercise and walk along the waterfront), and it's at a better location for restaurants and entertainment. I paid $495 for 15 days (about $33/night), much less expensive for a hotel of comparable quality.

Thanks Johnny and AKteacher. It's always nice to hear from the "real people" who stayed in those places and not just going to websites with customer reviews.Photos in websites are sometimes misleading.

Congrats to Johnny and gudluck to us AKteacher.

We stayed at Pearl Garden...about a block and a half from Robinson's. It is pretty much right across from Pan Pacific. We stayed at Lotus Garden and it was ok, but the time we stayed there it got really loud in the hallway about 3-4am.
