I-751 abuse waiver

Hi,

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of evidence can I gather to help myself in the abusive marriage? My marriage counselor told me this week that my husband is diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder and paranoid personality disorder, but he had been in the army and he knows what to say and do to look good in front of the authority. He gave me a concussion early this year but the local police took me in for domestic violence. Luckily, the county DV didn't open/file the case. I have a 2-year Green Card, which will be expired in January, 2011.

Please advise,

Asp

Police reports, doctor/hospital reports, documentation of the abuse (pictures of bruises, affidavits from witnesses, etc...)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

You can get a divorce and remove conditions based on good faith marriage without claiming abuse.

Read up in the guides on the kind of evidence that shows good faith marriage.

Examples: joint leases, joint properties, joint bank/credit accounts, joint tax returns, joint medical insurance, car insurance, utilities in both names, evidence of travel together, affidavits from friends testifying to the nature of your marriage, children born to the marriage...

(in no particular order) :)
