Hi VJ'ers

I need some advice on the validity dates printed on our NOA2

The NOA2 states that it is valid from 2/19/2010 until 6/18/2010. I have not yet heard back from the US embassy in London with my appointment date and I am concerned that the NOA2 will have expired by the time my appointment is scheduled. Can anyone tell me what the implications of this might be?

Many thanks.

Pretty much no implication at all. Consular officers can and routinely do simply extend the validity of the petition approval in as many four month increments as needed to complete the process.

I had my interview yesterday at the London Consulate. I was worried about my NOA2 date expiring on the 18th April, 8 days before my interview, however, there was no mention of this at all during the course of my interview.

I did prepare a notarized statement from my fiancée reaffirming her intent to marry me within 90 days of entry into the US, however, that was not requested either.

Good luck with the remainder of your journey!

There is a statement of the DOS (Department of State) web site that says the Consular Officers will automatically extend the NOA2 expiration date. So this does not become an issue of Consulate or Embassy dependent.

Here is the link to the DOS web-site and search down the page for Extending the Petition.

It is always reassuring to see the answer written down. Sometimes answers to questions are based solely on what othe rresponses have been by reading the web site for a long time.

Good luck
