Post IMBRA K-1 RFE - After 06 March

I have been trying to figure out why I am getting another RFE, 24 days after CSC confirmed receipt of my first.

If you did get a second helping, was it IMBRA again or something else?

Also, how much time elapsed, from acknowledgment of the first, to the second?

Yes we did, second RFE due to un "certified" divorce papers of USC. Had to go to court house and get it stamped. There was a thread, but can't remember where, Ill take a look.

edited to add, you asked about the second touch after the notice of RFE, I think that's the day they physically mailed it out

Let me get that straight, you need to send a "raised seal" certified copy of the divorce decree, for the I-129F?

I sent a photocopy of a certified document. The Embassy needs one too!!!

Damn. Does USCIS think we have all these certified copies just lying around? With spares?

Meanwhile, we have a porous border.

Wish I had found this site before I had filed.

How did you know you are getting a new RFE? Did you get another email stating a new date for when they sent you a new RFE? We got two RFEs with two separate emails stating different dates they sent them out, but in the two RFEs they have the same date as to when it was originally sent...same, exact RFEs, except for the slightly different format of the date and case number, but the same date really. So, I don't know why they are sending it twice, especially if they have received it long before they issued you a new one. Don't you think it could be a different RFE?

As long as the photocopy shows the stamps clearly, it should be no problem. Yes I wish we found this info earlier, since joining VJ ,I have read at least 4 posts regarding this divorce "seal" business. We could have taken care of it months ago. Like everyone , just sent the photocopies of the papers from the lawyers office. Damnnit! The previous link was in "divorce decree" post, sorry have just realized I dont know how to attach links

The second RFE could be for a multitude of things. The one thing that is positive is that you know they ARE working on your case. Generally once the requested data or document is returned, an approval is not too long in coming providing of course that one doesnt get held up in name/security checks.

Photocopies of all documents is what is requested with the submission of a petition. An adjudicator however can send an RFE for original documents if they feel it is warrented. There has been many cases of members not sending a photocopy of the correct certified documented, whether that be divorce or marriage and this is what lisaf was referring to.
