Getting the USCIS Case Number

Just curious about getting the USCIS Case Number.. I recently submitted the I-129-F on Apr 19th, 2010. I noticed in some timelines that people are able to check the status of their case before getting the Physical NOA1 in the Mail or before the check is cashed. How can I get my case number? I did receive the confirmation from the Courier that the package was delivered on the 20 April, but the check hasn't been cashed yet according to my bank..

Any Ideas?

You can only get your case number two ways...

1) After they cash your check the case number will be on the back (WAC for CSC filings, EAC for VSC)

2) You receive the I-797 (NOA2).

No other ways to get a case number - sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply...

Your reply is consistant with what I had read previously.. However when looking at a timeline of a particular VJ'r I noticed he got his status only prior to the Physical NOA1 or before the check was cashed.. That's why I asked..

Yeah since you already sent your stuff in there is no other way. If you havent sent it in, you could use the G-1145 to get text and e-mail updates.

How can we get the wiki or guides updated so more people know about this? I only know about it because had a lot of time to read before I filed.

Removal of conditions Journey

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

I was told you get your case number on your NOA1....

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

07/09/2014 sent in IR-1 packet to Chicago Lockbox

07/16/2014 NOA1

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

10/01/2014 found out we are expecting baby #2 June 2015!

12/15/2014 NOA2

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

06/16/2015 Baby #2 due - homebirth in Scottsdale, AZ
