Can you imagine trying to live off P10,000 (roughly $223 now) in the United States for a month? Practically impossible! Can't even pay rent with that. Yet in the Philippines you can hire a helper and a driver. Interesting right?

Lol helper and driver in P10,000 monthly allowance, your just exaggerating it right ? It is cheap to live in the philippines but not that cheap, specially right now... Rice, fish, meats and other goods in Philippines goes up rapidly but the salary of workers there. P10,000 monthly, you probably can afford to live atleast in P3,000 worth of appartment.. pay electric, water and cable bills between P1,500-P2,000 a month. Another P3,000 roughly a month for groceries (depends if how many family members live with you). Then yes the rest of the money that left is for the misc. need. So I guess P10,000 monthly is good enough to live in Philippines (for a Filipino).

But ofcourse if you have more than P10,000 a month, you have more choice to live above with that amount too. Means, the lifestyle your doing depends on the money that your making .

when i had my wife quite her job prior to moving to the states i had her give me a breakdown of what she made prior and what her bills were then from there we discussed what it would take for her to travel to see her outlying family and then from there worked up a budget it was around 14000 php a month and that included the expense of her brother living with her. most months this was enough and this was for general santos sometimes she would have extra to save sometimes she would need a little extra after savings was gone so to ask how much without having complete details of what expenses she has is hard to say but the key is to find out where she is at right now and help her to raise slightly but not to far to fast or she will not learn to budget just to spend because there it is cheap but here it is not

kevin are our wives sisters????....lol...same story here when she came she only brought 1 bag with her ...her sisters got all of her clothes because she had a full waredrobe when she got here ( with the exception of jeans because no man can pick out the style and fit of them correctly......lol) and she only asked for money once and a while due to paying for the internet cafe bill!!!! And also Pam syopped working before we met so she had no money !!!

hahhaa! I tease her about it a lot. While she's been there in Manila she's done a little shopping for the kids back home. Both her brothers are ready to choke her - "It doesn't take 2 hours to buy a pair of tennis shoes!!" Cheapass..LOL
