Ok... seriously.. Im 26, and just sat on my couch giggling like a schoolgirl. Once again, visa journey rescues me from a bad day in the making..

Have you thought about getting your tubes tied? Or he can get his tied up, they are VERY reversable for when you decide to have little bambinos.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Lucky for me I have only been pregnant once since entering the lions den per say. Yes

I plan on getting my tubes tied after we have a second child. As I said I am not very fertile, when I say not very I mean border line infertile, as of right now I want a second bambino lol so I'm good. Now that you say that he can get the snip when the time comes, I get all the other pain. Lol

I couldn't do BC pills anymore because the estrogen ravaged my already-dying thyroid. I was so miserable on synthetic hormones, I don't even want to think about it. I ended up going with a copper/silver combo IUD that lasted 3 years for $175, so it was a good option. I have really miserable periods that last 1.5 weeks and get them every 2.5 weeks, and they're horribly painful and the level of blood loss is so bad that I dropped from base iron levels of 75 to 35 in 3 months (basically from normal to severely anaemic in 3 months) so it has its downsides. However, no crazy hormones and loss of libido! Wooo!

Condoms are ... extremely unpleasant for me. Prohibitively unpleasant. I don't know if I'm allergic, but I know I'd rather pass on intimacy than deal with them, it's so unpleasant. Barrier methods are only effective if they don't break, and I'd had lots of breakage problems. So not worth it. I recommend the IUD for those in long-term relationships to avoid the hassle.

Well, thank goodness I dont know ANYONE here personally. I had no idea condoms really posed that much of a problem. As a girl, Im not really a big fan of them, and my hubby is very thankful for that. Seriously though, I thought it was just because of the inconvienience that men dont like them...

Still though, I think it would be easier to be a male.. not nearly as frustrating. Both my daughters are "pill babies" and I took that stuff RELIGIOUSLY... I have since found out antibiotics can mess with the pill.. and I was on antibiotics both times I got the "surprise!". I complained to the doctor and he said "well the only way to avoid those surprises is to abstain..." SERIOUSLY? I'm MARRIED!! :bonk:

I wanted my tubes tied, but my OBGYN wont do it until Im 30.

I did what was called the billings method.. for 10 years... without a pregnancy happening. I've never used birth control. Basically you track your cycle... (and not too get too graphic here but...) .. in order for a woman to get pregnant as you know.. she has to discharge the mucus plug..Basically this method is used to teach you how to recognize the fertile and infertile times by whats going on in your body...

good luck

Ashen, I went to planned parenthood when my husband was out of work and I got my birth control for free, the pill kind.

I'm on a different kind than in Canada by choice, but she was SO helpful.

More so than my own doctor

I so dig being almost 40 with a husband who is fixed (sorry hon...I outed you)....honestly once you're done with having kids...send the hubster in to get fixed.

After spending my first 20 or so years always being the one who had to worry about the final details of birth control....I am happy to say we are happy and care free

...did I say CARE FREE? ...if you get my drift......so, something to look forward to ladies.

Now obviously we only met 5 yrs ago...but at that stage, we had 3 teenagers and didn;t want more...so early on Don went ahead and got it done. The procedure is so easy...Don had a few complications...but even then it has been entirely worth it in the end.

I personally still take the pill to help alleviate endometriosis symptoms....but I never have to worry about anything else.

Yea I keep telling my husband to get fixed. Sometimes I get the baby bug, but I really don't think I'm going to have any more kids... and I know for sure he doesn't want kids of his own. He went to go talk to his doctor about it a couple of months ago but when he arrived at the office it was a female doctor who was in his place as he was away on vacation so he ended up saying he was there for a physical instead.

LOL!! At least yours went to a doctor.. I brought it up with my husband and his exact response was "Id rather slam my head in the safe door than have a scalpal anywhere NEAR my "man zone"... seriously.

And then you say one of the following things

a) if you like being near my "girlie zone" again...you know what you have to do...and smile sweetly

or you could say

b)I'd rather not have a head come out of my 'insert term here' anymore....you know what you have to do.

For the life of me I can't understand why men can't understand that we don't enjoy having heads come out of you know where, or episiotomies or being poked and prodded yearly anymore then they enjoy the thought...but it's their turn. We gave birth...you get to have a vasectomy.

Don had no problem with it...and when I say he had some complications afterwards...he did, and they weren't pleasant for about a month...but it was still worth it.

That is an awesome response!! I didnt even think of that. He is afraid they are going to "break it". He is so silly with this sort of thing.

I have an appointment for an IUD though, its $250 here, but at least I dont have to worry about BC again for 3 years.
