Beneficiary Change of Address

I am currently in the CR-1 process and am waiting my NOA2 for my I-130.

My wife in India told me today that she received her new passport in her new married name. Then she asked me if she could move with her family to a new residence - something they have been waiting for some time to do.

On the I-130 I entered her current address in India.

If she moves before we send her DS-230 to the NVC, will things go smoothly if I put her new address into the DS-230?

Or will her move create some problems because I have filled out her current address on the I-130?

I am the beneficiary and I moved just after we received our NOA2. I rang NVC and updated my address with an operator before we paid the IV fee bill and the DS-230 was mailed.

It never caused a problem for us. All correspondence is via email once the NVC has your email addresses on file.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

As long as you state the facts correctly and upon verification (if they do indeed verify) they turn out to be true, you are fine.

Whenever a form is signed, you also date it. So it reflects things as they stood on that date. After that some things (like address) can change.

Maybe you could read the instructions of I-130 again to see if they mention any standard procedure for change of address. I think it matters more if the petitioner (i:e you) change your address.

I would certainly not ask the wife's family to delay the move because of the visa process. Why put everyone's life on hold? :)

If the current residence was for more then 6 months and she now moves to new address you will have to provide Police Clearance Certicate from both of addresses local police stations, So you might wanna give this a double thought...!!!! One more paper work to deal with.
