The point being that the 14th Amendment has been misinterpreted and SCotUS should revisit this. This is not what the 1866 drafters of the 14th Amendment intended, wanted, or desired. They had no idea the mischief their vague wording has caused in the 21st century. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence of the true intent of both the 2nd and 14th amendments. And it won't be the first time the court has been late to render a definitive decision. Many long standing practices have been overturned by the courts.

Quite right. An activist court should make new law ;) ;) ;)

They aren't freeloaders, or at least not any more so than USC. They buy the same kinds of products you and your family buy, they pay rent, make car payments, pay taxes just like you. What else do you want them to pay for? Your mortgage?

Come on down to the Food Town Supermarket on the corner of S. Gessner and Fondren in Houston, TX and watch the throngs of illegal aliens using their Lone Star cards to buy taxpayer funded food for their anchor babies. Just like they pay a fraction of their Section 8 rent they get through their anchor babies. The Mexican government is laughing their azzes off. Better the stupid Americanos to support their citizens (yes the kid is a dual citizen and is not stateless) than for them to do so. Ha! Ha! The joke's on you sucker!

No...they are not the same as me and my family...they are illegal aliens that have violated numerous laws to get where they are today.

The only thing I want them to pay for is a one-way ticket back home.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Peejay, you're an odd one. You actually make some cogent arguments on the subject, but then you go off and confuse distinct issues and call in racial stereotypes.

Your own OP article was discussing LEGAL visitors to the US who enter temporarily to take advantage of US law in order to gain citizenship for their children, and then LEGALLY return to their home country.

Steve was responding to that OP and theme.

In this last post you turn to an unrelated topic - ILLEGAL immigrants who are residing in the US and taking advantage of liberal social benefits in this country.

You want to be taken seriously, right? Make a consistent logical point. You're not doing that in this attack.

 What a pointless pile of doggy poo the OP article is.

No it's not. And I say that with the deepest possible personal experience of the issue raised in the OP.

That's an interesting take because I've heard plenty of legal arguments over the intent of the 2nd Amendment that contradict many gun advocates' POV that gun regulations are an infringement on the 2nd Amendment.

Really it is. That there are people born to parents that are not US citizens and have citizenship conferred upon them is beyond dispute but that fact that this is a 'problem' that needs 'fixing' and that it's a result of 'birth tourism' is complete poo and doesn't even merit consideration.l

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Sez you. Let's just say that I have a very complex view of the subject, and I don't dismiss it as readily as you do.

Maybe you do and maybe it is 'complex' but for something to be a 'problem' that can be 'fixed' that something has to occur in significant numbers to warrent making the effort. I do not for one moment believe that there are a significant number of non USC parents living far and wide around the globe who set out to deliberately have their child in the US in order to procure an anchor to the US up which they are determined to climb. What this article is all about is fanning the predictable blame the woes of the US on illegal aliens. As I said, doggy poo.

The thought that such a stat can accurately be counted is pushing it. Considering that there are over 15 million illegal aliens living in the country, many of them are making good use of this loophole themselves. Take a trip to any area known for its large number of illegal aliens and there are a hell of a lot of people with a number of kids. Before you go off on some sort of a 'how do you know they are illegal' rant, might I remind you I am still waiting for someone here to tell me what visa many used to enter since unlike Australia, the United States has no blue-collar visa class. As such, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together. However it does take someone 'special' to deny it.

Last thing a first world country will do is reward anyone who enters the country illegal with citizenship.

Unfortunately the issue appears to be way too over your head to comprehend. Nevermind that that the same flawed system attracts a whole lot of sleazeballs (legal or illegal) to game the system for their own benefit and to some extent to the detriment of the USA. The result is the same. Automatic birthright citizenship is not the insignificant and miniscule issue your ilk make it out to be. The illegal immigration angle doesn't need to be mentioned in the article to connect it to the debate on automatic birthright citizenship.

As far as attacks go...you seem to have some sort of ####### for me since my posts seem to rile you pretty often. I take myself seriously and really don't give a ####### whether you do or not. I might lose one second of sleep over it tonight.

My ilk? What do you know of my ilk? Where did I say it's an "insignificant and miniscule issue"? I think you have me confused here with MC.

Here. Have a #######. And have a nice day.
