Hello, im new to this site but have been reading up on most of the forums especially for the K1 fiance visa. I just want to say that the customer service people at USCIS are no help. I've called several times and all they do is give me different answers and I feel as if I'm being rushed off the phone and just give me answers just to get me off. I even had a lady cut me off everyday I said something and then just said thank you for calling have a great day and hung up without letting me finish asking questions. How rude is that. I've never got a concrete answer from customer service so I need clarification from anyone out there who would like to help me out. My question is how long does it usually take for a approved petition to get from USCIS in California to the National Visa Center? I've been told it could take up to 6 to 8 weeks to get to National Visa Center. Then I was told it only took a few days to a week. Then I called National Visa Center. They said it could take up to 90 days for them to receive it. Looking at the time lines for most of the people on here, it only took a few days to a week from USCIS to National Visa Center. If its taken more than 2 weeks and even a month, what are possibilities that they haven't sent it yet to National Visa Center or what could be reasons for the hold up. Sorry If im just ranting, but it just gets frustrating when you call and ask for help and all they do is brush you off and get you off the phone as soon as they can. Customer service there sucks. Thank you. Any clarity would be appreciated.

There is never a 'straight answer' for this question - is nothing black and white.

It's lots of grey area, depending on the name checks.

If there are no hold-ups with the many name checks that are going on,

then expect 1 to 2 weeks from USCIS to NVC.

Then another week at NVC

Then NVC to Embassy Travel - 1 to 3 weeks.

NameChecks can hold you up, always.

If you are certain that USCIS has approved your petition, then start calling NVC, get a Human, and inquire for case status. Don't bother with the AVR - get a Human instead. Also ask 'is this petition on AP?' .

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Tnx you for responding back. Yes I got my approval letter. It says it will be forwarded to NVC. It's been over 1 month since the approval. I called NVC and spoke with a live person and they said they do not have anything with the case receipt # I gave them. They said give it up to 90 days. Then I call USCIS again just to ask if they even mailed it, all they said is its been approve and give it 15 business days, give it 6 weeks, it could take up to 90 days, just a bunch of different answers. So your right alot of gray areas. So I really hope if it hasn't been mailed yet, hopefully wereever my case is they send out that file soon. Thank you
