We didn't have any problems. As long as you have everything they ask for

and there are no red flags you should be fine.

The joys of the decision being in other peoples hands :) All we can do is everything we possibly can & hope for the best. One thing just to bring up to others that haven't spent much face to face time with your SOs...its a good idea to talk as much about the little things that you don't think about in the beginning...how will your kids be raised (including how will you handle punishing them)...this is a big one for us, because my daughter (4 yrs old) & I have been here for about a month & I have learned that using belts, sticks, etc is considered an ok form of punishment for kids here...but is a HUGE no no in my book....make sure the things they are set on NOT changing are things that you aren't set against...don't be afraid to bring up a subject just because u are afraid to "rock the boat"...better to do it now then later :) And I also think its good to know how your SO will react when they are truely mad...something very important, especially if kids are in the future plans. I'm really glad that I was lucky enough to come here for a long period of time before he comes to the US, because there are a lot of little things that would have caused huge problems that I never even thought about discussing, plus the MAJOR culture shock they will be going through when they get to the US. I know every situation is different...just wanted to throw my point of view out there to everyone...since we are all watching the days slowly tick by anyway..lol Best of luck to everybody on the lovely visajourney :)

It had been over a year since I saw my husband by the time that he had his interview and that was just one visit. We had no problems whatsoever but we also didnt have any other red flags. As Kenza said(hey girl!) be prepared to answer that question with confidence when/if they ask why she has only been once. while it is common that people dont visit multiple times, it can raise "flags" at the consul depending on the other facts of your case.

Good Luck!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

From your timeline, it looks like you just received your approval notice from VSC. Your case will be forwarded to NVC for a short stop and then sent on to the consul for interview scheduling. Check out the timelines for an idea about how long you will have to wait to hear from the consul for an interview date... good luck

I called NVC at 603-334-0700 ALOT...because the line was always busy to get our case number...and it gets to the embassy fawst...and Casa is on top of things right now...everything is moving really fast. I emailed them to check on our case & they called me (since I'm in Morocco...gave them my number here) the next day & replied by email. Must be a slower time right now...lucky for us :) If you have any other questions let me know...I'll update as we get through the medical & interview...we are getting together all of the other papers right now. 2 weeks to go...wow its flying!! Luck to all!!

First of all good luck with your interview and the rest of the process. I filed a k-3 instead of K-1, but I only went to Morocco one time and got married during that trip, it was for 3 1/2 months. We didnt have any problems, but just make sure that you are prepared for anything. Lots of pics. and letters from people that saw the two of you together during the trip ect. Good luck.
