Why there are pinays out there who feels so conceited about theirselves once they arrived here in the States?

I have been to few states for work purposes and sometimes when I met a filipina as well, considering the time she was just here in the states, (say just 2-6 months) they feel like they've just earn the right to be a b**ch, and some thinks their a$*es don't stink.. I mean, there are so many trying hard to blend-in that quick in the American way ( e.g the way they cloth their selves, the way they talk, interpret things). Just because some girls married a foreigner they evolved too quick. I don't blame other people why they would immediately think that these types of gals really just use their husbands as a ticket to the USA. It makes me aggravated everytime I come across with a fellow pinay who acts like this.

Why can't we just put our feet on the ground and stay humble. CAN SOMEBODY ENLIGHTEN ME WHY THIS HAPPENS???

it could be because they're insecure and the only way to feel good about themselves is to be someone they're totally not. :)

just be thankful you're not like them :)

I cant comment on your post... but I do want to say.. YOUR BABY IS SUUUUUPER CUTE!!!!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Anyone have a guts to give even just one name ? I dont LOL  . But I know what you meant. Sometimes you just gonna embarass for them by the way they act and talk to other pinoy. Sometimes its amussing... But sometimes its annoying. Just let them be and be who you are na lang. :star:

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.

Its interesting that you mention this..I have seen this myself and am suprised at how some have come here to America and surely changed..I dont of course know what these people were like before they moved here, but I certainly didnt like the way they acted towards me when I approached them. I am sure that they were the exception to the rule, I hope so anyway because i am marrying a filipino :) and i would hate to see my fiance act like this..

I didn't want to stereotype filipinas, but the reason I have brought this topic up was, a cousin of mine shared her dismay with this pinay girl whom she met from a FIL-AM community. She happens to be residing in the same city where my cousin is in. The pinay came from not so fortunate family from a Visayan place back in the Phil but when she arrived here, few months after, she started asking her husband material things,(car, expensive clothing, and gadgets)that she really have to call my cousin and brag these things. like, wth? Does she really have to do this?

First of all, we should feel thankful and very lucky for having the opportunity on meeting our husbands who happens to be from United States. We can't deny the fact that there are a lot of people who are dreaming to be engulf here in the land of milk and honey. But if we abused, and brag this opportunity that was given to us, God will never be happy and He will surely send us back to where we came from.

Hay may mga kilala din akong ganyan. Kala mo kung sino..hay lahat nalang na meron ipinagmamalaki. 1 year and 8 months na ako dito sa USA pero 4 pa lang nakikilala ko na pinay. I don't hang out with them. I think kapag nakakakilala ako ng Pinay eh that will be the first and the last meeting. They will even inviting me to go shopping but unfortunately I hate shopping and I am a home body person. Ayaw ko ding mag-attent sa mga gatherings because of this reasons mentioned by the OP. Mas masaya pa ako kapag si hubby at ang baby namin ang kabonding ko.

so far more than a year na ako dito sa hawaii pero never pa naman ako naka encounter ng ganyan... when I was working marami akong kasamahang pinay pero they were simple makapinoy ang dating din kahit ilang years na sila dito nakatira. I guess it depends na lang sa iyo if you want to be friends to a person like that. I dont hang out with filipinos here i didnt even try to find filipino friends here...why i didnt because i dont need them...I have my hubby why would i look for somebody else to make me happy...though no man is an island but you gotta choose good friends so you wont have to make such complaints like that anymore. Iba-iba naman kasi ang mga tao...kaya pag tuunan mo na lang ng pansin ang sarili mo na di maging tulad nila.

God bless you.

Maraming pinay na ganyan. Couple of my filipina friends did encounter those type of filipinas. I just told my friends not to talk to them.

And if you encounter those type, they are typically INSECURE PEOPLE. For your own sanity, dont bother waste your time with them.
