So I had another consultation yesterday in regards to AOS- at the services of Foreign Born. Now, the lady pretty much told me to only include the marriage license and lease as proof of our relationship and to save the stock of other evidence we have for the interview. And while im a little be-dazzled and not in aggreance with the whole thing, I would like to hear some thoughts on the matter...

In regards to the I-130?

I adjusted after entering as a tourist and I sent in A LOT more evidence then that

With my I-130 I sent:

1) 100 pictures of us as a couple, different places, with different people. All labeled, dated and sorted

2) 6 affidavits. 3 from friends, 3 from family

3) Letter from the bank stating we have a joint account, copies of our cards from the bank, copy of a check

4) Copies of 30 piece of mail in both our names, cards ectt

5) Copies of our lease, health insurance, car insurance paperwork

I think there was more but to be honest I haven't looked in my tote with all the stuff in it, in a while.

We only had a 5 minute interview as well, that just confirmed everything. No questions

07/17/09 - Biometrics Completed [ Completed in 17 Days ]

08/12/09 - EAD APPROVED! Card Ordered! [Approved in 47 Days]

08/20/09 - Interview notice arrived dated 08/18/09 - Sept 24th/09

08/21/09 - Got EAD Card in the mail!! :D

09/24/09 - Interview Date: 9:00am - APPROVED

10/03/09 -Received GC!!!!!

Thats exactly what we did. We only only included the marriage cert in the pack and held back on everything else until the actual interview. Come interview they didn't even look at all that either.

So i guess she does have a point i regards to her madness :blush:

Thanks for the info guys... hubby and I will figure out what to do. now that i think of it, she also recommends including just 2009 transcript with w2... :unsure:

umm i don't remember how many transcripts i sent.. i will go back and look..

did the form ask for it??? i don't remember.. now thats something that i would make sure is done right cuz ive seen apps rejected due to the income part not being done correctly, the proving ur relationship can be addressed at the interview..

WHATEVER they ask for on the i864, i would send, it couldn't hurt :unsure:

Bless up empress... the form I-864 asks for the most recent tax return or transcript, we thought to include the last three years as an option (also listed on the form). I think my consultor (lol) suggested only the most recent because hubby's job covers the costs and is way over the poverty line.

The more evidence you sent with your application the easier the interview process, because the IO saw all your supporting document for your bonafide marriage already.

We sent a bunch of additional things with our AOS package (photos, voided check from common account, etc.), only to be handed everything back at the interview because the officer "didn't need these"... :D

So in essence, there's no "best" option, it varies from case to case.

AOS:

12/05/09: Sent AOS package to Chicago lockbox.

12/11/09: USPS reports delivery of package.

12/16/09: I-485 check cashed.

12/17/09: I-130 check cashed.

12/19/09: Received four NOAs in the mail (dated 12/15)

12/28/09: Received biometrics apt. letter for 1/8/10

01/04/10: Walk-in biometrics done (Santa Ana, CA)

01/26/10: Received interview letter for March 10

02/05/10: EAD card production ordered & AP approval notice sent, both arrived in the mail shortly thereafter

03/10/10: Interview and approval for cond. GC

03/11/10: Status update "Card production ordered"

03/16/10: Welcome letter in the mail

03/22/10: GC in the mail!

ROC:

12/20/11: Mailed to CSC.

12/21/11: NOA date.

01/13/12: Scheduled biometrics.
