Have any DOD contractors' wives gone to naturalization interview recently? Our interview was in Fairfax, VA. We went and saw one interviewer who required another police clearance because the FBI could not read the fingerprints. We got that and went back thinking we would complete the process. However we saw a different interviewer who required so many different documents about my employer. Such as letter of incorporation, SEC 10-K form, how the division I work for is related to the parent company and other such BS. I feel I was getting the good cop bad cop routine with these clowns. Has anyone had such experiences like this, how did you get around them?

I'm a contractor working in Germany and just sent in my wife's N-400 under 319b (expedited naturalization) last month. The check actually just cleared yesterday. The Army passport office and MP station on base actually did a lot of the work for us by certifying many documents and completing the fingerprint cards. I also sent in a letter from my company and a copy of my LOI.

What company do you work for? I requested an interview at the Fairfax, VA office so we'll see how it goes.

I used to work in Germany for 2 years before I got married. When I got married I took a job with ITT in Iraq, worked there for 20 months then transferred to Qatar. I am looking to get back to Germany. Good luck to you and I hope you get better results than we did.

Hi ;)

my husband is a contractor in Germany (Stuttgart). Currently I'm gathering all necessary documents to apply for citizenship under 319b. It takes a long time, cause I'm having a hard time obtaining the Affidavit of employment.

Can I ask you for a little help? Could you send me or type without some personal info, how your affidavit/letter of employment was composed?

Thanks for any help in advance :star:

I don't have a copy handy but your letter should state the below. The company HR department may have done these letters before and would know how to type it out for this purpose.

A letter on official letterhead which states:

o The title of the official attesting to the facts in the letter;

o The name of the institution, firm or corporation and whether the official has access to the company’s records;

o The nature of the business that the employer conducts;

o The name of the State under the laws of which the employer was organized and the date of incorporation, etc.;

o The ownership structure of the enterprise; and

o The facts of your spouse’s employment, the basis of your spouse’s hire (contract, permanent employee, etc.), and the length of your spouse’s overseas employment.
