Well, try to make some sense out of this ... we sure as heck can't!

So we decided to schedule an infopass for today in Sacramento, since my EAD is long overdue (USCIS receipt date: Oct 23rd, 2005) and we've never even had bios done for it . At first we considered just waiting for our big GC approval from CSC, thinking/hoping it shouldn't be THAT far away now, after they received our RFE response ... but then we said hey, what the heck? We paid for the damn EAD, we might as well try and get our money's worth, eh? Even if we might not get the chance to make too much use of it before we get approved, why *donate* $175 to USCIS, we could just keep it as a souvenir on our nightstand lol

Well, our appt was at 11:45 this am. After waiting for about 1 and 1/2 hrs (wonder why they call it 'appointment'?), we finally got to talk to someone ... And just as we were expecting, from what we read in here, my EAD has already been approved on Jan 4th 2006 (same day my AP has been approved).

OK, so far nothing to be surprised about ... except the lady told us that their records show that the EAD card has also been MAILED out to us, on the same Jan 4th of 2006!

#######? As I mentioned earlier, we never even had biometrics done for the EAD/never received the fingerprints letter. And when we went for the AOS bios back in December, they specifically told us that they CAN'T do them both and that we need the fingerprints letter for the EAD.

How on earth could they mail the card out without bios done? And moreover, where the heck is the damn thing coz we sure never got it in the mail!!

*If* it really was mailed on Jan 4th, how come we never got it together with the AP, coz that's when the AP was approved/mailed as well, and we received it a cpl days later ... But this brings me back to wondering how can they sustain they mailed it, if we never had bios done!!!

What was really funny (NOT) was that the lady from the infopass told us we should probably re-file (meaning pay another EAD fee, obviously) if we don't hear anything in the following days ... No kiddin'!!! Just because the left hand has absolutely no fckin' clue whatsover about what the right hand is doing, we're supposed to pay for this?

All she could do was make a copy of our EAD NOA and said that she'll forward a request for re-issuing the EAD, but "there is no guarantee this will work, and it takes up to 30 days anyway" ... oh, and let's not forget, "you could try and call the 800 #" (yeah, we could indeed ... for what?!)

So once again, the big USCIS strikes! Just when you think there really isn't anything else they could do to make you grind your teeth, they slap your head sideways and say "Haha, think again!"

Good job USCIS, we just gave up our souvenir that was supposed to go on our nightstand :ranting:

At least the day wasn't a total disaster. After we got out of there (fully enlightened), we went over to the Capitol Bldg (there was a big humanitarian rally going on there too, with lots of media present) where I got to peek into governor Schwartzie's office while the guard was busy talking with someone lol :innocent: , then to Old Sacramento (bought a cpl of 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzles from a cute, quaint lil' shop), did a bit of window shopping at the downtown plaza mall and then we went to the Sacramento Zoo and it was awesome! Neither me nor my hubby have ever been there so it was quite nice ... we spent abt 4 hrs in there, took LOTS of pics, competed with the monkeys on who can be more obnoxious (lol ok, so after being in a tie for 2 quarters, the friggin' monkeys won! :protest: ) ... and all in all, enjoyed a great day together

Now, on to waiting for the *big* CSC approval

We had an RFE that was supposedly mailed but we never got. These idiots lose more mail than anyone I can think of all lumped together. I really don't think the mail actually leaves the building in the first place.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Two comments:

1) I did not have a separate AOS/EAD biometrics done for my first EAD. They obviously used the biometrics for the AOS for the first EAD, so they may well have done the same for you; and 2) I received my second AP significantly later than my second EAD even though both were approved at the same time. When it arrived, I kept the envelope since it was so poorly addressed I was fortunate it had ever arrived at all - the ink was smeared and you could't read my name, you got the street name and number and if you looked closely, you got the zip code -the city and state were illegible. USPS really did their job when they delivered that particular document. There is a strong possibility that your EAD may well have experienced the same problem. As well, while it is not supposed to happen, there is always the possibility of mail theft. Someone may have purloined the EAD for someone who is working illegally.

Good luck in getting the replacement quickly.
