i would like to ask if it is possible for me to apply for a driver's license without a green card... what am i able to do being not able to adjust status yet? will working as a nanny be good too even if the pay is cash?

Not sure if you can, but maybe this link will help you find out. As far as working it is not legal for you to work until you have your green card.

Driving depends on what state you live in. Each state has their own rules for issuing a license. Most require at least an EAD card, but find the website for your state and look for the rules.

You can not do anything for payment until you have EAD. Taking cash for work is illegal until you are authorized to work.
