Hi all. I have a question on 1-864 part 3. My wife was 7 months pregnant with our son and the plan was to have her over here before she would have given birth. But Ethan had different plans yesterday! We now have a healthy baby boy. Anyways, I was just about ready to send in my I-864 package, but I realize I might have to change something on it now. On part 3, it asks you to list dependents who you are sponsoring. But my question is since he is a US citizen, I would not list him actually on this form. I would just put a 1 in PART 5 where it asks for number of dependents. Is this right? Thank you guys!

I'm in same situation.

Part 3:

question 9: I didn't list my daughter since she is USC.

Part 5

question 21:

a. I entered 1 for my wife who I'm sponsoring

c. Of course I entered 0 for this (since I already entered 1 for 21a)

d. I entered 1 for my daughter (she is living with my wife right now)

.....

h. I entered 3 (household of 3)

This is how I filled it out. Correct me if I was wrong.

I hope this will help you out Catracho.

Hey, Catracho. I also agree with KenN. Do not list your child (USC) in Part 3, but do list him in Part 5 so that Household size = 3. Hey, I understand that this gives your child dual citizenship for Honduras and the U.S. Even though the US does not recognize dual citizenship, this will still give your son more options in the future, especially if he ever wants to live or work in Honduras. Cool, huh!

Here's to families being together sooner,
