hi all,

Well i should be finally posting off the application tomorrow and i just have a couple of really dumb questions to fellow brits about what to put for citizenship/nationality on the g325a form and the country question on the I-129f. See my brain is mush, is my nationality citizenship english or united kingdom? im more confused as on the vwp you must put UK or they get peeved.

also, my country or residence on the I-129F is england right? its not been technically removed or anything!

anyway, if a fellow brit could tell me what they put, it would put my mind at ease :D

thanks

dan

Hi Dan,

I put UK throughout all of my applications. The way I saw it, we have UK passports not English.

Good luck!

Helen

In the field "Citizenship/Nationality", I put "USA".... and not "American".

Grammatically, I guess it might be incorrect since it is my country's name, not my nationality. However, I think it is proper for submission of a governmental form.

We used "UK" for the country of birth and country of citizenship, but for her actual address (Q:15 on the old I-129f), we used Sutton, Surrey, England.

OP

Maybe it helpful to think of it from a more international perspective.

Citizens of Russia are very big on nationality. If you are Jewish, your nationality isn't Russian, even if born in Leningrad/St. Peterburg, your nationality is Jewish. If you are Tatar, your nationality is Tatar. If Buryat, then Buryat.

Now, what would these people write on a G-325A? Buryat or Russian? USCIS doesn't recognize a Buryat as a distinct nationality but on a good day they'll recognize Russian as one.

So, consider seriously writing UK.
