We got an RFE telling us two things "Submit all support tax documentation submitted to the IRS from the petitioner/sponsor on Form I-864 Affidavit of Support , for the most recent tax year" I submitted 2006,2007, 2008 but the tax deadline is April 15 so I haven't filed my taxes yet because of my business I wait as long as possible and when my accountant can actually sit down with me. By the time I file it will be too late to get a transcript, will a copy of the tax return suffice? Do these people not know we all have until April 15 to file our taxes? Ughh

Secondly.."Based on the documents submitted with form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the petitioner/sponsor and household members the income did not meet 125% of the federal poverty line for household size. " I submitted my my I-864 along with a household members contract, is it that they want another I-864 from the joint sponsor? I thought I just had to submit the contract and tax records, bank tec. Between me and the joint sponsor the income is 60,000.00 or is just the tax documentation the reason they are saying income isn't sufficient?

BTW we are so happy, we even started a vegetable garden me gardening? Wonders will never cease haha

Thanks

We got the same. So we submitted my 06, 07, 08 tax transcripts and 2009 1040 with W2. We also got the second box checked saying I needed a joint sponsor. What I did was I marked the Income Guidelines and how much I make to show that I do not need a joint sponsor for my wife because I earn more than the required.

we sent our response to the RFE and only submitted my electronically self-filed 2009 tax with a copy of my w2 for it along with 06/07/08 irs trancripts and nothing more. you think this is good to go?

Yes, you can send back a copy of the 2009 return itself - just be sure to include all supporting documents as well (W2s, 1099s, etc).
