Hi Guys,

I am the beneficiary and currently in India. My wife is in US and is the petitioner. She has already paid the I-864 Fees from US. I am still waiting to get the DS-3032 form at my India address. I have read in many forums that i can write an email to them saying this will be my agent and so on. But i want to wait for some more time and fill the actual Form itself.

My question is , is it a good idea to nominate my wife who is US as my agent and how to do that with the DS-3032 form. I mean should i write my wife's name on the top where it says last name, first name and middle and then should i sign at the bottom. I am confused about the right way. Please help me in this issue.

Interesting that your wife has already paid the I-864 fee but you haven't done the Ds-3032 since that is generally the first step. Anyway, YOU will complete the DS-3032, put your name at the top and fill out the information accordingly - listing your wife as the agent if you want. Most people nominate their spouse as the agent.

Good luck.

You know you dont have to wait on the form to be mailed to you, you should of been sent a link and you could of printed it right out in India <if not the petitionor was sent a link> , also... I had my Hubby print it out, and then he Fed Ex'd me the signed form... In the mean time I emailed it too them... in the long run the one that they accepted was the one that I emailed to them... there are 3 ways to send in the DS-3032:

1.) Print out form with Barcode, fill it out, mail to petitionor, so they can mail it to the NVC <or you could mail it directly to NVC>

2.) Print out form, fill it out, scan it back on the computer and then email it the the NVC

3.) Use the template here on VJ and create your own DS-3032 to email in <----------- This is the one that I did and it was accepted in 3 days

I received the info to pay the I-864 fee the same day my husband received the email with the DS-3032. I have to wait to send in the AOS packet until they have accepted our optin, but the emails were generated the day we gave NVC our email addresses.
