Hi,

My fiance and I are about to start to process to get my fiance visa. My fiance is currently living in China and I live in Beijing, he will be moving back to the US at the end of this year so we are wondering if it will be possible to transfer our application or if we would have to start all over again once he is back in the US.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance for any help...

S-J

If you both live in China.. you may want to consider getting married and then applying for an Immigrant Visa by DCF... Go to a specific US-China Immigration site called Candle for Love to get more information on this process.

The petition for the K1 visa is filed in the US and where your fiance sends it is based on where he lives in the US. He needs to have a permanent address in the US in order to file. Nothing would need to be transferred since it would be filed here in the first place, then sent to Beijing for your interview.

If he does not have a permanent address in the US - he can use his parent's address for example - then you need to wait until the end of the year when he returns here in order to file.

Good luck.
