My fiance passed her interview yesterday at the manila embassy. She said it was a breeze. Does anyone know the cheapest/easiest way to book a ticket from Manila to US? I have run into some issues trying to buy a ticket for her online using my credit card. Also, can i purchase a one way or does the ticket need to be roundtrip

Congratulations to you and your fiancee.

This question has come up a lot. You did not say if you are in the Phils with her or you are currently in the USA and want to get her a ticket to come to the USA. Many online web-sites require the Credit card holder to show the credit card at the airport when they check-in or can be denied boarding or have the price raised on the passenger.

This also depends on where you live. Philippine Air isn't very friendly about this. So check with offices of EVA Air, China Air (the other Taiwan airline) and Cathay Pacific. Call the US main offices and ask them their policies. On EVA you can book flights from Cebu, or Manila to Taipei Taiwan with a connection from Taipei to Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and possibly Chicago or NY/Newark.

This will get you a ticket at a reasonable price without the need for her to show your credit card.

A travel agent will probably get you around the requirement for your fiancee to show your credit card but will be a much more expensive ticket.

Good luck.
