I am new here.. My interview date is March 5, 2010.

NEED HELP ON THIS:

I worked in UAE for 2 years..from 2006-2008. I left UAE April 20, 2008 and did not come back again and just stay here in Manila since then. I got my Police Certificate 2009 (march 3,2009 exactly). My problem is, will this be a problem during my interview? That my Police Certificate is now outdated? Can i just show them my passport supporting my outdated Police Certificate as a proof i did not come back in UAE since then?

Worried,

The police certificate serves as proof that you didn't commit crimes while you were in the UAE and that you weren't a threat to their nation.

Try to contact the UAE Embassy in the Philippines and see if you could get an updated police certificate from them:

Philippines

UAE Embassy

2nd floor Renaissance Building

215 Salcedo St. Legaspi Village

Makati City, Manila, Philippines

Tel: + 632 817 3906; Fax: + 632 818 3577

Email:uaembmla@info.com.ph

All the best!

There was a recent thread where this was discussed.

Here's what DOS has to say about police certificates from UAE. (remember, this is a recommendation, and the consulate can ignore it), but I think you are in a good position with an expired one with you. Especially with other experiences where it wasn't needed to boost the confidence level of that assessment.

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.
