On the form in part three it asks me if i am sponsoring the immigrant above who is now my wife. I clicked yes. the question is then I would go to part 5 question 21 and it asks for household size. I have myself and my wife, there is a spot for wife on the question, but if I check it that makes the family size three. There is not 3 people here so what do I do?

If it's just you and your wife, it makes 2. Under "Example Forms", you'll see one for I-864 - just follow that and you'll be fine.

It also says "Don't count anyone twice."

Keep in mind, this form is not just used for married couples in your situation - the example form should be of help to you.

For the puproses of this I-864 you do noy have a"wife" you have a sponsored immigrant. Enter -0- for spouse.
