Hey Lohninck a VJ i am talking with told me that for the change of status the husband has to do the medical again, did you know something about that?

Khark i am having this arguments about furniture from here, i want curtains, a table and chairs, and he said we will buy a house in two or three years is not worth it... i dont agree but nothing i can do from here, i have some savings and if he dont want to buy it i will decorate anyway, i dont want my mom going to my home and saying that we live like pigs, no way...lol

Well Ken is getting ready to head to the airport now....how exciting...its gone 8pm here in the UK now...that means in 12 hours time Kens plane is due to land :) I have a feeling the nightmares will end then for sure...I dont see sleep as being on the "things to do" list, thats for sure he he he.

Oh for the change of status thing...I got it that if you do the AOS within the year of your medical then you dont need to do it again...its only if you do the AOS a year after...but I could be wrong, it has been known many a time lol.

We got our apartment last year in Sept...so we decorated it together...bought all our new furniture...so Im quite lucky there. I was at our apartment in Feb and sprinkled the fairy dust about it....you know, those girlie touches that makes a house....a home :) I cant wait to get back to our apartment.... "home".

still though, we have cases of things to take home ....the children have sooooo much stuff...lol...bless them, they are so excited right now. I will be getting them up at about 5.00am, ready to put them in the car for a 2 hour - 2 and a half hour drive to go pick Daddy up....they love running and jumping into his arms. I have to hang back and wait till they have finished hugging and kissing him....but we have "us" time in London...lickle bit of sight seeing...a brillant interview ( I am going pass this damn interview lol )and lots of "us" time he he he.

I am sure your place will be perfect, it will have you two living in it....just as long as it does...you will be very happy I am sure.

Huggles to all.

The fact that you used to have to do a medical again used to be true, but as of a few years ago, as long as the medical was within a year of applying for the Adjustment of Status, it's still valid and another one is not needed. More information here:

I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. Regardless of if you are exempt from a medical exam, you are still required to complete certain portions of the I-693 and have a Civil Surgeon certify the form (and seal it in an evelope). Specifically, you will complete Part 1 (Information about you) of the I-693 and provide both the form and your DS-3025 (if you have it, proving your vaccination history) and any proof of required vaccinations that were completed prior to entering the US. If you do not have a copy of your DS-3025 you will need to provide sufficient evidence of your vaccination history to the Civil Surgeon (talk to the civil surgeon's office to discuss what vaccination records they accept as proof). If you do not have proof of your vaccination history the Civil Surgeon may insist on re-administering all the required vaccinations prior to completing the I-693. Once the Civil Surgeon has has verified that all required vaccinations have been performed, they will complete form I-693 Part 2 (the vaccination section) and Part 5 (the Civil Surgeon's Certification). They will then seal the form in an envelope and return it to you.

Phew, another hundred bucks saved at least.

UK- good luck on the interview, hope it's painless. :)

LeslienScott - Congratulations. Sorry it's not soon, but at least the date is finally set and in sight!! good.gif

SandT, where do I begin. Can't get good tea anywhere, few restaurants have hot green tea. Our cheese sucks. Sour cream is OK. Veka is happy with prices. She likes our beer. Bud Light, Miller Lite, Michelob, (in bottle of course), but our wines suck. Maybe I will buy her something with a cork in it instead of a screw top. Veka likes fajitas, mahi-mahi, salmon, steak, sushimi, and our lettuce salads. Funny about te oraganic vegetables. We went to the farmers market, immediately, our produce does not have good smell and she said "too many chemicals." Now we are buying organic, looks like #######, but better taste. She has done a little bit of shoe and clothes shopping, nails done, new blackberry so she can call her family on Skype every day.

rofl.gif on the cork vs screw top. :)

T is pretty happy with the wine, although I miss the availability of Georgian wine myself. Of course, shopping organic adds up - fruits, vegetables, chicken, beef, eggs - not so bad in most cases, anywhere from 25% to 100% over "unknown chemicals used for extra loving" :D I may have to start shooting us some deer. :D

Sorry about the furniture experience; I hate furniture shopping. I seem to 'naturally' sit on or gravitate towards the more expensive stuff, even if it's simpler looking than much of it..then you find out they want thousands of dollars and they'll deliver t in "a few months." Yeah, next store! No immediate furniture shopping in sight besides probably a few armoires and a dining room set, all needed, and so far we found a nice used piece. T is better at saving money than me, by far, and had a small cow over a run ($ spent) to Costco, but you know how it is there; we now have TP and paper towels for a half year, and meat for almost as long. good.gif

Who is on the list of no NOA2 or interview date still?

Who isn't yet with their other half?

Fingers crossed for both of the above, and hope everyone else is settling in smoothly and happily. :)

Mailed K1: Fedex to VSC Feb 19, 2010

UK i am here girl, with my fingers (all my fingers and toes) cross, i know is going to be great but still it doesnt hurt to ask for luck...

Les just one week after mine, yayyyyyyyyyyy i am celebrating still yours, just with a cup of coffee because is too early for alcohol but on the weekend if i get better i ll drink some beers... Oh and i dont know how is there but the people of VJ from my embassy told me friday is the best day for interview, they close early so they finish fast... and we both have friday for interview...

Kharv how long will it take for the marriage license or what ever the name is, when you swear you want to marry the person and you are free to do so? i honestly dont know ´cause we dont use that here, i just need my id, a saturday morning and thats it...lol... Everything is simple around here, if you have the money and time to do it. :)

So i think i have the flu, there is always on the summer a virus, a flu virus... i hate to get sick :( but i am going to work, even when people here had to go to doctors i am really strong and i feel sick but not that i cant work, i always say you need to eat right, that is helping me to not get into bed...

Hope you feel better! Just relax & try to keep the stress level down.

Oh yeah Les if he dont i wont get the k1, thats how it works here, too many people doing bad things like faking the relationship to leave the country, so they wont accept it... I fell confident everything will be fine, i travel a lot to the states to visit Marc, and never did anything wrong like over staying... but Marc has to be there...

Honestly i just cant wait to see him, i am on my countdown, lol...

Pd. is not the flu, i had a cold but also my gastritis, Jesus i have stress...
