i had $100 in my pocket before i left but because im "kuripot" i call my husband from a phone booth using collect call while im at NRT & ATL it cost him $20 :lol:

haha! mas kuripot ka pala kesa sakin dianne. lol. i had some $ and peso bills in my pocket too, i tried to buy some cards but they wont accept $. they only accept yen and credit card so i said fine, forget it! :rofl:

plane landing as of this time tick. She'll be out of Customs in less than 2 hours. suggest you make that call to the AA desk at ORD, they will page her for 1 to 2 hours.

I would call AA and check if her seat is occcupied. And if she had a cellphone, unless it is 5 band 3g gsm, it won't work in Narita. My Globe prepaid didn't work in Narita, my US 3g phone did.

I would call the airline and rest easy. Narita is a VERY good airport and the staff there always seemed to me to be very helpful and friendly. I would venture a guess that she made it to her connection just fine.

There's no terminal fee. But she will need to buy a card to use the phone. She should be fine. She probably just want to waste money that's why she didn't call.

I purchased a activated roaming sim card and loaded up some day before I departed but it didnt work in Narita at all.

My husband told me about the free internet cafe right up by the second floor but I didnt go there, instead, I went down to the admiral club and had some free sandwiches and drinks while waiting for my flight. LOL!

You need a quadband phone to work in japan. As far as the globe roaming, I dont know...i have a smart roaming and it worked fine in my quadband phone I had. Both my phones worked in japan....I had a samsung quadband for the smart roaming and blackberry bold 9700 for my AT&T US number. As far as internet, I have used boingo ($6 a day). I didnt have much of a layover on the 31 Jan, so I never went online. Also, my wife was getting her hair done at the time.

So any update?? Is she with you now? Was it just worrying for nothing?

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

Hey everyone! Great news as she has arrived and in ONE PIECE! Arbind.Ariadne is correct! My new wife is keeping me very busy...and in a good way. She didn't call on her layover in Tokyo because she couldn't figure out how to use their phones and they cost too much. She did call me when she landed in Chicago and my heart jumped. She told me that she got out of POE and is on her way to Omaha. We got married yesterday at the courthouse and have been together a whole 2 days now! I'm so happy to be together with the love of my life finally!
