we noticed today i signed the lease with Shareen I*** as im going to change my name as soon as i get out to the states but i have to apply for the visa with my maiden name as i havent yet changed it..i used the lease as a bonfide marriage proof.

Will this cause any problems??

Well not necessarily.

If you have decided against changing your name that's your business. If it's legally your name and you didn't sign it there could be several reasons for it, for instance in my case, I my ID (passport, Aussie drivers licence etc) is in my maiden name. If I was in Australia right now (as I assume you're in your home country) I would be using my maiden name for everything as I haven't changed it there yet (they don't allow the US marriage licence as a change of name document in Australia). Here in the US though I can show my marriage certificate as proof of name change.

You can change you name later if you like, that's completely up to you. As long as you were using your LEGAL name at the time of signing the lease then there's no problem with that. They will only care that you're married and living together and the lease proves you're living under the same roof.
