OK, so here is our situation.

My Fiance had her interview in Moscow Jan. 14th. She had some delays getting her police report so except for that our paperwork was perfectly complete.

However, I am currently unemployed. To cover my bases I asked my Mom, a federal employee, to co-sponsor which she did without a problem.

So.. now we get to the point of the post.

During the interview the "smiling lady" asked my girl if we planned on having kids to which she responded yes. She then asked.. how will you support kids if neither one of you is working. Fiance responded she will get a job if she has to. Smiling lady said.. "it will be hard for you to get a job"

Fiance left the interview with instructions to send her police paper in and then they will make a final decision.

But.. now a week and a half later Fiance is FREAKING OUT that they will deny her visa because I am not working at the moment.

So.. based on the cumulative knowledge.. what do you all think? And.. any advice to help calm her down?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there.

Don't worry. She was fine and she will be approved. Of course if her background is clear ;) They just need a police certificate, they can't give her a visa without it. It's one of the main of required documents for interview.

But at the interview, asnwering questions " I will get a job if I have to " That's RUSSIA  Only we can do it, work as a horse. I hope you will take my words right ;) It's inside of us. It's our mentalitet :) But smiling lady was right, right now it's too hard to find any job here. I don't know about your area, but still. Anyway, Don't worry, everything will be fine when she brings a police certificate. It's only one missed on the interview.

Nadiya.

Great answers everyone! Thanks!

Gary and Alla.. I know Donetsk is a big industrial town, but, I really enjoyed the month I stayed there. People were very kind and friendly and the friends I made four years ago are still my friends. :) I especially enjoyed the walking street and the concerts in the center. Well of course I was there in summer.. winter might be less attractive.

and I was born and lived not too far from Donetsk. It's Lugansk region. I can tell all these eastern regions are great, but they have grey color in winter and early spring.
