I do think that this is consistent with a battle with terrorists, and not a pretext to fight another war in a foreign country based on false pretenses. How your train of thought went from a conservative activist being caught in a criminal act to this is beyond me, but lets get back on topic please.

Whoever does charge these activists has a lot of ground in which to charge them. In the extreme, they could be tried federally, but I seriously doubt that. I think the activists would relish that role and would try to position themselves as some sort of martyrs.

So maybe they were tapping her phones to find out why unemployment has soared in working age males to 20% and housing prices and sales fell to the lowest in 40 years in December. Maybe it was to find out why the Democrats are running from health care now that they can't keep Kennedy's seat in Mass. I don't know, what DO you think the reason is.

Obama is the most inept bafoon to ever hold that office. More and more people are findng this out. A bunch more will find out again tonight. Each time he runs his mouth (the only thing he has ever run) he loses more support. Keep talking Obama.

I am not a conservative. I am pro choice on everything and support GAY marriage, among other things. There is nothing gray about Obama expanding the war with BLACK OPS in other countries. There is nothing gray about the fact he has done nothing he said he would...nothing. He can't even close a prison in Cuba. He can't drag a liberal Democrat with a 30 point lead over the finish line in Mass for a seat they have held for 47 years! He can't give a State of the Union speech on time. He can't get health care reform passed, he can't get an agreement on at a Green Summit in Denmark. He can't get the Olympics for Chicago, and this with a Super-Majority in the Senate and a solid majority in the house. he is an abject failuer with not a clue what to do.

Absolutely not! Not by the government. NO ONE supports our civil rights to privacy more than me. However these are NOT government employees. They will be charged with trespassing or some other related crime. There may or may not be a law forbidding the recording of coversations without a person's knowledge in Louisiana...I doubt it. "Wiretapping laws" apply to government officials and law enforcement, NOT to individuals. Again there may be some laws which apply to a Senator's office, etc., but wiretapping laws, per se, wer not violated. I never said I supported this, I simply was discussing faliures of the Obama adminstration for which they could have been interested in learning about. I suggested a MOTIVE, not an aproval.

It could simply be that they are very tired of being unemloyed or seeing their families losing hope of getting a job. maybe their relatives homes have been foreclosed or lost so much value that they cannot sell the home and move. Maybe they have a sick aunt who is dying because she cannot afford her blood pressure medication and Obama will DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!! We elect the guy, we give him fool proof majorities in both houses of congress so he doesn't need EVEN ONE Republican vote, and he simply cannot get it done!!!! He fails when it is HANDED to him!

There are a lot of angry people in this country and some of them want to know WHY he can make deals with Mary Landrieu but can't get a bill passed, cant close a prison, can't get the economy going, can't get us health care, I mean #######!!!!!!!!!

Condone? What does it matter what I personally think about his performance? This country has a democratic system of government and as far as I am aware he gets to do whatever he is mandated to do, or not do during his 4 years in office. I know in the UK you can have a vote of no confidence in a PM and remove him from office if that is a generally accepted mood within elected circles. Does the US have such a measure? If it does, then, agitate for that to take place if that is your opinion.

Apparently you expect the President to have some sort of master control switch to bend everyone to his will. We still live in a democracy/republic last i checked.

Just because someone is against the war in Iraq, doesn't make them anti-war in all cases. The military has its uses, but deployments have a significant cost, but monetarily and to the condition and morale of the troops. Obama was never against using the military when it makes sense.

Closing the prison in Cuba is being held up people who want to keep inmates outside of the US justice system. Obama, can push to get it done, but getting congress to get over the NIMBY fear, from both sides of the aisle, is very difficult. The government is not a company in which the executive can basically dictate what happens.

With Coakly losing, most of that responsibility is on her. She really didn't run any sort of campaign, and just expected to be elected. You can't just take stuff like that for granted.

On health reform, see the part above where the president can't dictate to congress what they are suppose to do. Especially when the minority party doesn't see it as a problem.

How the heck can yo blame the Olympics on that he as basically no control.
