An Open Thank You to Montreal's Consulate

Dear Paul Meyer and staff at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal,

I know that over the past several months you have been the recipient of much angst, frustration, dissatisfaction and anger in this forum. Much of that reaction has been misplaced, largely because the Consulate in Montreal is the face of the process -- all things end in Montreal (POE notwithstanding).

Perhaps it is a tad presumptuous for me to speak on behalf of the Canada forum on Visa Journey, but I would like to both apologize for the general reaction to the consulate over the last while, as well as thank you for managing to restore the hope that the process can be made faster and more efficient, as evidenced by the recent scheduling blitz for CR-1s, IR-1s, K-1's and probably even a few K-3s.

I would like to believe that the plight of many alienated (for lack of a better word) spouses and fiances splashed across the pages of this forum had an impact on bringing about the necessary changes to speed up the immigration process on the consular end of things. So for that, I, and I'm sure most people on this forum, sincerely thank you. Each poster here represents a person with a significant other, family and in-laws that are all affected by the process, and shaving even two or three weeks off of a wait time does wonders for one's peace of mind throughout the visa journey.

Thank you once again for recognizing that we are all people, that there was a problem with the process, and doing what you could to fix it. Countless individuals have been impacted positively by this recent turnaround, as will countless more to come.

Wyatt said it perfectly. As much as most of us have grumbled whined and complained, we are very thankful for the dates we have been given, most of us now can actually start thinking ahead and plan weddings etc which we had stalled during the wait.

Just think..now i can give a positive answer on "so when's the wedding"
