Hi,

Well the first thing I did was to look over the forms and start to fill them out as much as I could. The I-485 is the main form and the other one is the I-765 (if you want to be able to work). There are many other forms you will need but the guides will help you with that.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=guides

You should know your Alien Number and your I-94 number too.

First go and get a marriage licence.

When you have been there for at least 2 weeks go apply for your SSN.

Make sure you have some money saved up as the fee for the AOS is $1010 with biometrics.

Follow the step by step guides on this website and you can't go wrong.

Good luck

the i=94 form (your arrival/departure card) is usually given on the plane, you should have filled it out before you landed and submitted at your POE.

check your passport, it should be stapled there.

if not and you see a stamp showing your arrival, it should still show until when you're allowed to stay, you should photocopy that page as well

but before submitting your application, you should call uscis and tell them you don't have the i-94

Hi Zen Den,

Im looking for some advice. I noticed from the bottom of your comment your timeline. I noticed that you got married, just the civil cermony, before your actual Church wedding. Me and my fiance are considering this but were unsure whether its ok to do it this way.

Thanks

I-94 Form - The number is the departure number.

I am moving this thread from the K-1 Process forum to the AOS Process forum. You will find several pinned topics there to help you out.

Yes, it's fine. A large percentage of VJ'ers do this.
