Actually, one of the best concerts I ever went to was by their fellow countrymen / labelmates, MUM. It was a pretty incredible experience. Most people were indeed sitting down. I would have but, well, it was at Richards on Richards, and God only knows what has touched that floor... :dead:

Oh ya I love MUM.

I went through this weird Iceland phase for a while. It's still one of my life goals to stand at the edge of Dettifoss and scream at the top of my lungs.

Yea I set my goals pretty high dontcha know. :hehe:

I have actually NEVER heard of them. I am curious now. Only because they've been described as 'somnambulistic" and if you can fit that word into a description, I love it on principle...

:D

Yes you must! And monsters of folk! Listen! :D

I think Sigur Ros' second album, Agaetis Byrjun, is a good place to start. Their first one, Von, is impossibly minimalistic, in my opinion. At least their second album has well-defined songs.

Damn it, now I'm wanting to put it on, but it's packed away in a box.

Jonsi Birgisson also has a solo album coming out.. or it's already out... I don't know. I have a hard time keeping up with music like I used to.

Yes, because he needs a more "stripped down" sound. Sigur Ros is just too damn lively as a band for him!

Maybe it'll just be a capella!

I don't know why I find him sexy but I do. Maybe it's because he's kind of eerie and gangly... and he plays the guitar with a bow.

And he's Icelandic, meaning he's part of a rather small genepool.

Jenny don't be hasty...

He's cute but he always looks like he's stoned out of his tree on stage.

The same thought came when we saw him last year in House of Blues, Orlando.

Yea I saw him once in Baltimore and I thought: "Maybe that's just the way he looks" and then I saw him again last summer in Toronto at Vfest and he didn't open his eyes once. But his sound is amazing... so if he's on the dope, that's okay because he makes good music while on the dope...

I'm regretting having Siouxsie and The Banshees on my ipod atm. First, it makes me feel old lol, second, I tend to think that Siouxsie is an appropriate spelling for the name and a good idea for new parents (which it is not). I had a friend in high school whose sister had a daughter (far too young) and named her Siouxsie. Now little Siouxsie is in high school and not amused with all the teasing
