you will get the visa soon enough. my fiance just had her interview 12 january and just go her visa on 20 january. you're just two days behind. ........and....if you're not familiar with filipino time....you'd better familiarize yourself with it.

Congrats on your visa!

Yes, I'm familiar with Filipino time, but this is still a US embassy... lol. Which might be worse... hmm I'll have to think about that one.

Vicky's going to do her CFO tomorrow (Th.) in case her visa would happen to arrive late on Friday, so she could still come on Saturday.

I'm beginning to adjust my expectations to next week.

We got our's approved on the 19th but I hope it doesn't take too long. They told her no later than 10 business days. All of you are still in that 10 business day time frame.

I also don't think the tracking number will work until the visa is actually shipped.

Should I call Dept. of State?

Yes. DOS shares data with the Consular Computer System. It may be off a day, depending on where it is and the protocols for updating (batch vs real time).

Call the DOS Hotline, Get a Human and inquire about case status.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Don't bother calling the appt. setting/ info. line, they can't tell you anything.

Don't bother emailing the email address on the consul's website, they return an email saying "thanks for contacting us this email is now for internal use only".

Dont' bother calling the non-immigrant trunk line, they just push you off into a recording that also says "if it's after 10 days please call back".

In other words, don't expect to be able to get ANY information WHATSOEVER from the US embassy in Manila.

P.S. Day 7 end of business day Manila time, still not shipped. Hello, weekend. Goodbye, chance of Vicky attending my co-worker's birthday party, attending my training with me on Tuesday in Chicago next week, goodbye arriving on a weekend when we'd actually have some time together instead of arriving just in time to see me go to work for 11 hours a day.

SUPER!

You do understand, yes, that I am speaking of the DOS Hotline, based in the USA, yes?

Please let me know if that's not the case.

I've never suggested 'anything in Manila' using labels that you've used.

I've ALWAYS SAID - 'DOS Hotline' .

So - are you calling the DOS HOTLINE, Get a Human ?

If not, why not?

I'm not because we're still within the promised time.

I'm just venting, and saving someone else the $18 fee to call the info. line, it's worthless. They can't tell you anything at all, whatsoever.

I'm actually still very grateful to be at this point in the process in 4 months.

Just was hoping for this weekend and a bit let down/ frustrated.

if you don't get it by the end of her Friday, then you'll be behind schedule with getting the passport back compared to when my fiance got her passport back. if not friday, i hope you get it no later than saturday. you'll get it. i'm surprised you were very lucky for your paperwork to move that fast. i submitted my i-129f in march 09, which will put me at 10 months and a few days, compared to your 4 months. your process took less than HALF the time mine did and probably significantly less months than most.

we all really can't compare why others got their visa in just a couple days while ours is taking so long. Mine took 8 days. Remember that you should at least let 7 working days pass, ..... so for you, that would be Tuesday. If you still don't get it by Wednesday or Thursday, then it really needs some serious bugging phone calls to USEM.

your girl will get it, don't worry :)

I know, and I really am grateful we're at this point already. I'm just tired of being "in limbo", something I'm sure everyone here can relate to.

If I just knew a specific date, even if it's 2 weeks from now, and we can start making our flight and wedding plans, I would be much calmer and happier. Again, something most people here can probably relate to haha.

I really had a lot more patience until they said "it's approved", now I just want it done. Yesterday. lol

Vicky's going to go to the embassy in the morning just on the off-chance it might be done and she can grab it. Otherwise if it arrives on Saturday or Monday, she'll need her stamp/ sticker for the CFO (already done the seminar), and can't fly until Tuesday (CFO office isn't open on Saturday).

Her cousin is getting married Sat. Jan. 30. If it's next week she receives the visa, she'll probably stay for that, even though her cousin and Uncle understand that she's been waiting a long time for this and are O.K. if she leaves, I think it would be rude to leave 2-3 days before the wedding. She still wants to leave the day after she got the visa, but I don't know how well that would be perceived by her cousin and uncle. I'm encouraging her to stay if it's only a few days until the wedding.

So, we're probably looking at 2 weeks more because they couldn't print the visa within one week. That's the other reason I'm a little frustrated.

Don't ring 1-888-877-9888 or 1-909-101-7878. These two are call centers.
