hello everybody here,i'm new in this website i'm very interessed to use it coz i couldn't find any answer about my subject.

i'm living in algeria and my fiance from usa we used already the process of fiance visa.

29/04/2009:the USCIS received already our case.

01/09/2009:the USCIS sent our case to the ambassy consulate US in Algeria.

20/10/2009:i did my first interview and to complete my case what they asked me to give them.

until now i don't know what're they doing, i didn't receive anything from ambassy here in my country,it takes so long.

plz there's some one can help me to make me down i'm very stressed coz i couldn't understand how long it takes to approve my visa to join my wife.

Hi there, it sounds like you are in AP, which is security checks done after the visa interview. These can take anything from a few weeks to months or over a year. Your US partner can call DOS and try and find out more about your case, but they may not be able to give out any info.

Three quick questions:

- at the interview, were you gvien a slip of paper? If so, what did it say?

- You mention "what they asked me to give them." - do you mean they asked you to give them more information about a part of your case, or that you gave them everything they wanted already?

- You post in the K1 section and at first mention a fiancee, but then a wife. Did you get married during the proccess? Language is very important and the consulate may get suspicious if you refer to your fiancee as your wife.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
