Well I just got back from my 3 week trip to Russia about 45 minutes ago. I'm tired, sad, exhausted and still waiting for the relieved feeling to kick in... but I don't think it's coming anytime soon.

The trip was awesome, but the one who makes my place feel like a home is missing.

I'll detail my trip tomorrow, after I fill in a friend over a bottle of Russia's finest tonight. (read: cry on a shoulder  )

I've been doing that every weekend for 2 months in a row (last time I saw her) so I hear you, man.

What vodka did you bring over? :)

WB Shawn. I will be in touch probably before I leave Thursday. How did you bring vodka back? I thought it would be confiscated or stolen, either from carry-on or checked bags. I would like to bring back some Putinka (sentimental value, to me it all tastes about the same).

I hope everything is okay. Your message is almost ominous.

I focused on "the trip was awesome" and quickly read the rest as being sad because he is missing his sweetie. Hopefully that is all he means.

I agree; I am concerned for them.

She has been able to visit to him a few times (I believe) and now this trip to visit to her (and I think he's been there before).

So it isn't like they've been away from each other for years now.

And they have started the K-1 process, so there is an end coming.

Sorry if my message got anyone concerned! Also with that, thank you for being concerned. :) Everything with us is as perfect as can be.

Here is why my message was short.

6 hour flight from Egypt to Ofu, Russia.

10 hour train trip to Chelyabinsk.

12 hours to pack, take photos, visit with family and

3 hour drive to Ekaterinburg

6 hour flight to Moscow

8 hour flight to NY

6 hour flight to Utah

5 hour flight to Alaska

I'm still not ready to write out the report, just letting you all know all is well.

Aren't there flights from Alaska to Vladivostok? I would tend to think that going that way is shorter than crossing 3/4 of the world going east.

Yeah you'd think there would be a shorter route, but there really isn't. Lufthansa runs some routes from Anchorage to Germany over the pole in the summer time, that shaves about 10 hours off the trip.
