My bf 's interview is coming up and I am trying to prepare a little. We are going the K1 route.

Am I allowed in the interview room when he has his interview in Rio or do I need to wait outside ?

How are they in Rio ? Is the interview easy or do they grill you there ?

What kind of questions do they ask him ? Are they picky on evidence ?

Thanks for all your help.

Take a look at the embassy info page. Also, there is an 'embassy review' that you can link from that page.

Good luck

Hi, yes you as a US citizen are allowed inside the Consulate. Most of the people are allowed inside the interview room, but sometimes the consul ask the to wait outside the room while he interviews the beneficiary.

Check on this website in the link above "reviews: Embassy/USCIS - POE" and then select Brazil. You will have the review and common questions they ask.

Good luck to you guys =)

ps- Do not to refer to him as boyfriend. And tell him to do the same at the interview. Refer him to his name or fiancee. There are no boyfriend's visas, and you can get a red flag by doing this. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I guess I should have looked around at the embassy info page and I would have found the info.

You should be allowed to be interviewed along with your FIANCE (I was also wondering why he'd be called your BF).

I attended my husband's interview and the CO talked to me more than he did my husband.

Our interview was very easy - it only lasted 6 mintues.

The CO asked very few questions and when he asked for evidence, though we had a lot since our I-129F, we only showed him a photo album/scrap book that I had made for us.

Agreeing with some of the prior comments, he is your fiancé and not your boyfriend..

Most cases in the past few month, the embassy in Rio has allow the petitioner to be part of the interview but it is up to the officer to allow both parties. Please remember, the IO will know your case very well before your fiancé gets to the interview. This process may take 5 minutes as it could take 40.. Having all your documentation in order will avoid delay in the process.

Here is a link for the sample questions you and your fiancé can use for practice. Answer only the questions they ask and don’t elaborate.

Evidence.. many cases you will read "they didn't even ask for pictures" but every case is different and unique. You should prepare for your case and don’t based yourself in other peoples personal experience. Please remember your case is not the same as mine nor will be as anybody else. So, prepare for your case as if this is your only chance [Personal Opinion]..
