Which vaccinations are essential and required before the AOS interview? My wife has the three (TB, Syphilis, and HIV) and I am unclear if others are needed before her interview. Her shots were received overseas well within the last year during her consulate K-1 visa interview. Thanks!

Your USCIS doctor will tell you which she needs. My wife required 2 more and once the immunizations were complete, our doctor signed the I-693 and we filed with our AOS package.

Several shots are given in a series, maybe 3-4 months apart which is why your wife may need more here.

While in search of a civil surgeon, I found the best by asking the right questions.

I just told those offices I have called what vaccinations I had. Only one asked me about my age. When I gave that info, one said to me that I don't need additional shots so I could just drop by their clinic to have my vaccination record transcribed by the CS. After that, I left with the mighty sealed envelope.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us all.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

My civil surgeon had to give me another tetanus shot. He said that USCIS is picky about how many tetanus shots you've had. Apparently, you need three shots of Td or Tdp. After that, then you need one every 10 years. I had only two, so I needed an extra one. Grr...I should have had the last one when I was in Toronto, where vaccines were covered.
