Hi,

I am about to start the K-1 process, and am also in the process of moving. Currently, I don't know where I will be living, and when I choose a place to go to live I don't know if I will stay in that location or even city or state before my fiance arrives. I'm wondering if this will hinder the K-1 process. Also, once he arrives, will it be a problem for us to move to another locale either in state or out of state? In addition to those questions has anyone heard that it might be harder for the alien-fiance if living in California? I have heard that paperwork and hoops you have to jump through might take longer in Cali. Can anyone shed any light on these topics?

Thanks-

If you would be moving during the visa process, always make sure to notify the USCIS about it (or the U.S. Embassy when your case reaches there and you'd suddenly live in a different place from your address on the I-129F).

My POE was LAX and I have been living in Santa Monica, CA since I arrived last year through the K1 visa. My husband and I are sending my AOS papers this week. I now have my Social Security Card. Our marriage certificate arrived fast. When my husband was still my fiance, he was already here in Santa Monica upon starting the petition. Everything has been great. We had our NOA2 in less than three months and I arrived in the U.S. two days before it would be five months from the date he sent the I-129F.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us all.
